2. Describe your most effective classroom experience, as a teacher, observer, or student, with the
following technologies: Communication: My most effective experience as a teaching assistant regarding communication was when the teachers started using an app called ParentSquare. All forms of communication are
done through this site. ParentSquare is a communication platform designed to facilitate communication between parents, teachers, and school administrators. It is commonly used in educational settings to keep parents informed about school activities, events, announcements, and their child's academic progress. ParentSquare typically provides features such as messaging, event calendars, attendance tracking, and grade notifications. Parents can receive updates via email, text messages, or through a dedicated mobile app. I feel this made it way easier for everyone to communicate with each other and keep the parents updated and informed. Information: My most effective experience with information technologies was when one of my teachers I work with at work showed me a game called Kahoot. It was introduced to me in my first year working as a teaching assistant. Kahoot is a game that all the students can play online together and answer questions. We used this game as a review to help study for different tests in science, social studies, and English. I feel that this was a great way to get information to the students and it helped it stick as well. I feel the students were doing better on the tests when they were able to play the Kahoot game before each test.
Assistive: My most effective experience with assistive technologies was last year when I worked in a self-contained classroom. There was a 3rd-grade student in the classroom who didn’t communicate verbally. She used an iPad to communicate with everyone. I found this to be the most amazing thing. She was able to tell us what she wanted and needed through the iPad using this app. 3. Although I have learned a lot about using technology in my years working as a teaching assistant, I am so excited to learn more ways to be a more efficient teacher and help support my students as much as possible. I believe using technology is the best way to support learning and teaching. Some questions I have are:
1.What are the most effective ways to incorporate technology in the classroom?
2. How do we know when we are using too much technology?
3. What is the best technology to use in the classroom currently? I know that it is constantly changing.
4. And where are some places we can go online to keep current with the educational technologies
that teachers are using?
