Why or why not? d. Discuss at least one potential drawback of Sabeti's approach that you want to see her address in future presentations, publications, or research. a. Yes, the TED Talk was engaging to me. What made it interesting to me and kept me engaged was the talk about how they fought back against a global epidemic. b. There was some topics they were speaking on that I didn't necessary understand but there was never a part where I felt completely lost. c. Yes, with the whole coronavirus thing happening not too long ago, it definitely made it easier to connect and understand what she was saying. Yes, her work definitely affects me and everyone else, she helped it not spread even more! d. One of the only potential drawbacks I realized from Sabeti's approach was that she released the data without having it peer reviewed. This could have caused problems with the team that was assisting her in the long run. One same error could have been a disaster. Module Five Question 2 Who is the audience of Pardis Sabeti's TED Talk? Focus not only on the audience shown when the camera cuts away from the stage but also on Sabeti's message and how she chooses to present this message. Who does it seem like she's talking to? What evidence do you rely on to help answer this question? It seems like the audience that Pardis Sabeti is speaking and is trying to reach is people within the social science field. However, when she's talking, it seems like she's speaking to everyone, not just people within the social science field, she uses "We" a lot instead of referring to a particular group which makes it seem that way. Module Five Question 3 How does Pardis Sabeti tailor the message of her presentation to her audience? She does this basically by explaining to the audience that everyone working together and
making all of their evidence public. This makes everyone feel like they are a part of this alongside her, and not an outsider. By continuing to publically display the progression, this shows the audience that one day it could day make the issue curable or controllable.
