Dear Parents,
Here I am to introduce myself and share my vision for literacy instruction with you as we embark
on a journey to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment for our students. My
approach to literacy is based on my belief that every child should have the chance to develop
into a confident writer and reader who can overcome language difficulties with joy and ease.
Regardless of a student's starting point, this vision is especially focused on allowing
remediation and intervention to ensure that all kids may succeed in literacy.
Building Relationships and Understanding Students
The relationship between teachers and students is crucial to the success of literacy instruction.
My goal is to become familiar with every student, learning about their interests, experiences, and
perspectives on writing and reading. I can create learning experiences that engage people and
promote positive social connections and self-motivation by understanding their perspectives.
Students feel appreciated and understood in a supportive learning atmosphere fostered by this
individualized approach (Mod, 2023).
Motivating and Building Confidence
My primary goal is to foster a love of reading at all ability levels. Knowing that motivation and
confidence are essential in the literacy journey, I appreciate every little accomplishment and
improvement. To ensure that every student finds something that speaks to them, various
reading materials reflecting a diversity of cultures, interests, and challenges will be available.
Everyone's reading experience is made more delightful and personal by this inclusion.
Print-rich Learning Environment
The foundation for facilitating literacy intervention and remediation is a print-rich environment.
Books, children's magazines, picture books, labels, charts, bulletin boards, and written displays
in various formats and levels exist in such an environment. Students' exposure to the written
word increases by engaging in printed materials, offering ongoing, continuous chances for
reading and writing practice. Students are invited to participate in meaningful and collaborative
reading activities in this environment, which fosters research (

, 2019).
Disciplinary Literacy
Literacy is essential in all subject areas, not just in English language arts classrooms. I want to
incorporate reading interventions into science, math, and social studies classes throughout the
day. By ensuring that students use their literacy abilities in a variety of situations, this
disciplinary literacy approach makes learning more accessible to understand. It reinforces
students' understanding and implementation of reading and writing processes across the
curriculum.
Technology Tools
Epic!: A digital library with hundreds of books for
children under twelve. It's an excellent resource for
promoting reading at home (

Storybird: A creative platform that allows kids to use
various artwork to create stories. With the help of this
tool, families may practice writing skills together at
home in an enjoyable way.
