Working with a team will always have its up and downs, but what matters is not how you
start but how you finish. In complete honesty I liked working with my team, one of my team members was the one who would always want to take charge in certain situations but she would still ask us for our opinions so I did not fully feel like it was a full traditional team, we did have some challenging goals
at the beginning but as our book states “ teams need challenging goals to
spark members’ best efforts”( Rothwell, J. D. (2022)) and I honestly feel like this is exactly what
happened. We were missing a certain member of our team, and we had some difficulties when it came down to trying to reach her. After we were able to reach her, I feel like the team member who would take charge did not fully like that she came in late. I could tell from her tone, that she
had sent out a message just saying she was scared that the team member who was late would disappear again, and we would have to take her part. In my opinion, I think she was just scared of depending on that team member, so I just gave her my reassurance that everything was going to be all right. When my team and I began to work together we did have a bit of group polarization
which takes place when “the group tendency to make a decision after discussion that is more extreme, either riskier or more cautious, than the initial preferences of group members” (Rothwell, J. D. (2022)) this really manifested itself when we were dealing with the brainstorming of what we were going to do as our final presentation. One of the team members wanted to set up supplies for those who were attending school and unfortunately could not purchase the basic supplies, but one of my other team members interfered and stated that she knew some schools already did that and she felt like that was not going to be something that we came up with but instead it could be taken as something that we copied. The team member continued by asking if we should come up with a website that then led to an app. The team

member who had given the idea of the supply was iffy about the idea but since the majority of the group decided that an app was the smartest choice we decided to go on with an application. I feel like this was a perfect example of how a group can polarize to a certain idea and win by the majority. This example of group polarization continued as we focused on our last presentation. As I stated before there was one group member who would always take the lead so she would bring up certain issues and at some point I did feel like there was a bit of tension because it could
lead to what was controlling and one of my team members did not fully agree with her and I was very perceptive when it came to the group's energy and communication so I began to feel that tension. Either way, the group continued to work as a team even if there was some tension here and there due to different ideas, but everyone remained respectful of one another, and I feel like that is key when working with a team. If you disagree with someone's ideas that is completely fine, but you must remain respectful of their ideas and opinions. Overall, I feel like the team came together and we finished strong. Towards the end I was
feeling a bit exhausted because that one team member who would always take the lead would message me kind of telling me how she felt as if one of our team members was not fully putting the right information which I would just respond, then maybe you should let her know if you feel
as if the information does not correlate to what you want it to. This was quite irritating because we are adults and in any other group or team that I have worked in if anyone had an issue or a problem with someone's work, they would approach them directly. I believe she understood my message and stopped doing that. To ensure that our conclusion had a strong ending I did suggest that we create an application or a preview of the app in which I would add after my slide (the conclusion) and my team agreed on it. I feel like this really pushed the creative process
when it came to the team. And although the textbook states that “creativity is more perspiration than

inspiration.”( Rothwell, J. D. (2022)) I feel like it was based more on the inspiration of my team because it really brought us together when it came down to deciding how they wanted me to create the logo or the options that it would have.
