Listening is required to gain an understanding of what is being said. You can hear but not actively listen.

What listening barriers are the most difficult for you to overcome? Why?
I personally struggle with knowledge as a listening barrier. If I already have a history or extensive background on a top, I struggle to listen to what is being talked about. 3.
Why is it important to take notes on details given in instructions?
So that you can clearly understand what is being talked about and convey any misinformation you may have heard. 4.
What is standard language and why is using it at work important?
Standard language uses the words taught in English courses in schools. It is important to
use standard language so that you remain professional and everyone understands you. 5.
Why should you consider the interests and needs of your audience?
You should consider these factors so that you can deliver the message in a way that it can be received.

Why is it important to be aware of your nonverbal behavior when talking with coworkers or customers?
Because you should make sure that it agrees with the intent of the words used. 7.
Posture is an important element of body language. What nonverbal message does good posture send? What message does slouching or stooping send?
Good posture demonstrates interest and a willingness to pay attention. Slouching or stooping shows that you are closed off to communication and reception.
