Very thoughtful project, Kathleen. Early childhood education is important as it provides the needed skills to become functioning adults. Providing a solid foundation for children at an early age caters to their emotional, physical, and social development and prepares them for life. Fleming et al., (2018) posit that “The experiences and exposures of young children during this time-bound period of neuroplasticity shape the development of both biological and psychological
structures and functions across the life course.”
Having access to resources to foster the need for education in children can be somewhat limited for reasons such as language barriers, poverty, and lack of parental support among many other deterrents. Thank you for highlighting the need to include parents in the learning process, and no doubt with a project like Kids Incorporated, many will benefit, and illiteracy will be a thing of the past. God has entrusted us with children and our responsibility is to ensure they are nurtured in the fear and admonition of the Lord as it was declared in Psalm 127:3 (ESV), “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of a womb a reward.” Therefore, we should love, teach, cherish, and prepare them for the future.
