Exercise 8.2 Challenged My Ideal Job Description
Exercise 8.1 challenged my occupational prospects with my ideal job description. My ideal job description would be diagnosing and
treating patients. Examinations and tests would allow me to diagnose patient conditions. Another ideal job description would be
prescribing treatment and medications to attempt to heal any illnesses or injuries. Accountant, research scientist, health information
specialist, biophysicist, mathematician, career counselor, and biologist were the occupation prospects which I eliminated during this
particular exercise
. Exercise 8.2 challenged my occupation prospects which were generated only once, twice, or even three times.
Sports trainer and medical technologist were only generated twice, and therefore, were eliminated.

A Career as a Psychologist Essay
Psychologists are very important people; they help millions of people with their everyday struggles and problems that they have to
deal with. Not only do psychologists help people with problems that they cannot handle on their own, they also are scientists who
study human minds and behaviors. With being a psychologist, there are many different careers to choose from within this profession
(Explore Health Careers). The first type of psychologists to choose from is a clinical psychologist. Clinical psychologists help people
with counseling and psychotherapy. They work with people who have all around life problems, such as new adjustments in life.
Clinical psychologists also help people who have emotional disorders or

They also provide consolation to courts and attorneys in different types of legal proceedings (Psyris). Next is an organization
psychologist, which helps in the productivity of groups and individuals in a workplace. These types of psychologists focus on
improving the function of organizations, and to keep individuals healthy within the organization (Psyris). Another type of psychology
to choose from is a counseling psychologist. These are important psychologists because they teach people how to deal with their
everyday problems. They help their patients determine their problems and help them understand the problems they are facing. Not
only do counseling psychologists help their patients with the issues they are experiencing at home but also in their workplace or their
community in general. By helping their patients identify their strengths and resources, is how counseling psychologists help them with
their problems (Bureau of Labor Statistics). The next type of psychology is the developmental psychologist. Developmental
psychologists work with psychological processes and development that takes place throughout life. They study aging and problems
the elderly may face, but this type of psychologist mainly focuses on children and adolescents (Bureau of Labor Statistics). The last
type of psychologist to choose from is the social

My Dream Job Being A Lawyer
I envision my dream job being a lawyer for many reasons. I would like to be a lawyer because I like to argue my point and look for
evidence. For example, I get really competitive when I debate with my brothers about politics and logic. It is really fun for me to back
up my topics with logic and facts. I like the feeling I get when I already know what I am going to say and I have the facts and logic to
prove it. I would also like to be a lawyer because I get to help my clients' cases. Additionally, I love thinking critically and using clues
to come to a conclusion. Ever since I was a little kid, I loved thinking about things in a critical and/or different way. I also loved the
idea of being a detective that would look for clues. I even read stories and watched shows where the detective would come to a
conclusion and back it up with facts. I really loved how the detective would blow everyone away with the evidence he found. I also
loved when the detective would think in different ways about the clues and retrace his steps if he came to a false conclusion. I picture
myself to be a lawyer because lawyers argue and support their point, help their clients, and think critically. I will become a lawyer by
following many procedures. One of which will be to ask questions to role models and other lawyers about how they got to where they
are now. For example, I could choose to follow in Phil Beck's footsteps and observe how he does things. It is always nice to have a
role model because

My Ideal Career Path
All aspects of working with families and young children interest me. I would welcome the chance to aid certain individuals'. I am keen
on making the life of others better by giving them the kind of care and support they deserve. As a child I had the aspiration to care for
people, hence social care will best fit my career path. I know that I will be successful in my career as I have looked after my mother
from the age of twelve. Growing up, I have always helped her with her general health and well–being. When my mother had her
hernia removed, I took on board her daily tasks ie looking after my young brothers. I am positive that I can make a change in people's
lives therefore my goal is to work in the social care sector. Looking after my mother has made me realise how much it means to a
person to have someone to support them. My motivation in life is, not only to carry on what I am doing for my mother but to also
increase my knowledge and help others. Everyone deserves the care and support my mother gets from me. I consider myself to be a
sociable and caring person, which is why I feel I have the right mental outlook, character and societal qualities to converse with a
variety of people from different ethnic backgrounds and religions. My strengths include working well as part of team which I fully
understand is necessary for this kind of job. My organisational skills are of the highest standard. I realize that this attribute is

Personal Narrative : My Ideal Job Essay
During the summer, a huge focus of mine was working. Working always had more than money involved, but valuable skills, traits, and
benefits that came along with a job. These jobs are what helped me shape my ideal job, and what I most want out of my future career.
As anyone else, income was always one of the biggest factors. I never wanted a huge income like a doctor would receive, and I don't
want to be in school forever. Another big key of my ideal job is the quantity there was. I never wanted to run out of work and have to
search for another job, so job stability is critical to me. I love the idea of having to work for what you earn, so a good income satisfies
my needs. In addition to my required needs for a job is the benefits you get out of it. During my youth in the summer I always wanted
some vacation time to have fun with friends and family, so benefits and hours were always important to me as an individual. I always
was looking for a typical schedule working a Monday through Friday with weekends off. Along with that I hope came with some
vacation time, and holidays off. A family was always an essential to me, so being able to get away from work whenever to be with my
family is a key component of my needs in a job. That said my search began to find the career I was looking for. Understanding what I
have in mind for a career, I put together the typical job description. The basic overview of a civil engineer is to design and supervise
construction projects. These

A Career as a Social Worker Essay
A social worker has a very important job. Social workers help children and families in need of food, homes, and health care. They help
children have a brighter future. There are many different types of social work. There are mental health, child and family, elementary,

They take the child or children out of an abusive home, weather that is mental abuse, or physical abuse. Social workers also find ways

social worker, the job will require that everyone who is involved in the situation is receiving help. According to the Child Care
Careers book this may include giving individual help to every person in the situation. Such as, if the mother is a drug addict, she may
require some rehab. Or if the father is very ill, he will need medical attention. Or if the parent(s) and a little insane or have brain
trouble, they might need to go to an insane asylum. Every person involved in the situation needs individual "game plans". One
treatment does not fit all. Each individual person has a specific plan to help them with the problem he or she may have. This may
include medicine, medical attention, schooling, or even jail. For the child this might include schooling, medical attention, or even
foster homes. To be in this field of work, a proper education is required. The Child Care Career Book says "a masters degree in social
work is needed if this person would like to go into the mental health, research, or supervisory positions". It also states that, "A

Part–time Jobs for Students: A Good Idea
I, being employed with a part–time job, truly do believe that there is no wrong in having a part–time job while being a student. I
honestly think that it is an awesome, great idea for students to have part–time jobs before they graduate from high school –– if they
have the time and resources to do so. Students who are responsible, or learn responsibility, have nothing to loose but all to gain by

A student with a part–time job will learn not only great work ethic, but also how to balance the demanding workloads between school

today?s world because everything is so fast, and compressed; there is a lot to do in a typical day of a student! Employed students must
learn how to work while still making time for their studies and other things. They will also have to learn confidence in telling the boss

Interior Design Career Essay
Do you know what your answer would be if someone asked you what you want to have as a career? I know that my answer would be
that I want a career in interior design. Interior designers evaluate, organize, coordinate, and design better living and working spaces.
They require both artistic and business skills in order to do their job properly. Because I enjoy many of the aspects of an interior

's job, I chose this career to learn more about.
\ The job of an interior designer is to create a space that meets their client's needs by using decorations, lighting, colors, and patterns
("Interior Designers" para. 2). Interior designers focus on how colors, textures, furniture, lighting, and space affects a building and its
appearance ("Interior Designer Career" para. 1). They create designs that can help raise productivity, sell merchandise, and improve
life style ("Interior Designer" What's para. 1). Most designers have a specialty or certain style of building or space they they work on,
and others may work for home furnishing stores ("Interior Designers" para. 11). Going through the process that an interior designer
goes through to make a design is time consuming. They begin with the first step which is called programming ("Interior Designer

Consequently, it is important to keep in mind that no employee is irreplaceable. While hearing many complain these days about his or
her job, one just needs to look around and be thankful that they have the means in which to survive and are able to work. There are
many who are not only unemployed, but also unable to perform due to illness or a disability. Sometimes when a person is feeling in a
mood to complain, they may need to sit back, relax and take a look around in order to appreciate what they have, and learn how to be
a good employee.
Being a good employee means caring about your job and your company. In

Staying to finish the job or at least reach a stopping point will not be that much of a delay. If it is impossible to stay later, then you
should plan your day more effectively
Do not call in sick unless you are, or take for granted that you can call in a vacation day spontaneously. Vacations and personal time
should be scheduled. When you are out, your job is delegated to others, and having to take on unexpected responsibilities without
being prepared can affect production or productivity, as well cause stress and conflict among others.
Be that employee who, when someone asks you to do something, will feel confident that the job will be done, and done right, without
a doubt. Dependability goes a long way in the workforce, and having the reputation of being the employee that everyone can count on
is a compliment.
*Be respectful
This means to respect others as you would want them to respect you. If you ask someone for help and they concur, do not steal the
credit for their work. On the other hand, if what they helped you with is unintentionally wrong, do not blame them or yell at them, as
they were only trying to help you out. Never cut someone else down in front of others, yell at them or point out their bad qualities.
Do not gossip, or fall in to the trap of one who does. Gossip can destroy a person and ruin their career, and is something that is easy to
fall in to.
*Use time wisely
Plan your day, have an agenda of things to

Job Skills Essay
Laura G. Thompson Angie Miller English IV November 6th, 2014 Important Job Skills There are several different skills that are
important to have to have no matter what the job you are in search of or already have. Employers have told us for quite sometime now
what they expect out us; and I'm going to talk about the most basic ones everyone should have, including: confidence in themselves
and their work, excellent communication skills, flexibility, adaptability and being reliable. Everyone is drawn to confidence; it's a
proven fact. Although, you also want to make sure you're still able to accept positive feedback and apply the lessons learned.
Employers want you to be confident in your work and the company or business which you

Flexibility leads to being a reliable and responsibility. You want to be a able to rely and trust other employees to do what they need to
do, so you can do what you need to do. In order to be reliable you need accomplish tasks in a timely manner and stick with dues dates;
finish projects ahead of time for bonus points, which will also take some stress off you. You should show up when you're scheduled
and even a few minutes early. Make sure to take responsibility; complete any work on time and make it to work in a timely manner at
all costs. If you do ever need time off make sure you schedule it way in advance and call whenever an emergency pops up. Lastly, take
responsibility when you're to blame; you'll always be better off in doing so. Finally, adaptability. You need to be able to adapt and
work around any given problem; which means you need to be able to be resourceful and have excellent problem solving skills. To be
adaptable would also include efficiently completing your work under stress, new environments, new coworkers and with limited
resources. ±
These are some of the top skills I have found to be most important to employers that everyone should have. Now you can
check what you need to work on; unless you already have all these essential skills, in that case you are the perfect

What Is Your Ideal Career Essay
My Ideal Career What happens when people get sick or injured badly? They would go to the hospital where they are greeted by
compassionate and well–trained nurses. Nursing is an excellent medical career for those who are hardworking, compassionate, and
willing to devote many hours into helping others. However, it is demanding. Nonetheless, I know that I have chosen the right path
based on my personality and passion. The reasons why this career is a proper choice are presented as such: my results of the Myer–
Briggs test, hemispheric dominance, receptive learning style, and Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. Also covered are previously
considered careers, past job experiences, and other activities related to nursing. The results of the Myer–Biggs tests conclude that I am
INFJ personality type. Percentages include: 44% Introverted, 12% Intuitive, 16% Feeling, and 34% Judging. Being introverted means
that I get energized by being alone and get drained from being around people. I would have to adjust being around people and
communicating for an averaged twelve hours, but I don't feel discomfort around people. Intuitive types "read between the lines and are
abstract thinkers (Storm, 2015)," according to Susan on Psychology Junkie. Although it could be difficult to be always aware of my
surroundings I will have an easier time creating different ways to solve a problem. My feeling trait allows me to connect with people
on an emotional level, and it allows to me to go with my gut
