Introduction:
This template should be used to record your reflections on the weekly sessions.
Please use the spaces provided to reflect on what was discussed in class, what
you gained from the session; did you find the content useful, how can you relate
it to your studies at university as a business student. You will also need to
discuss how you intend to further develop the skills discussed in class. This is a
continuous process and should be completed during the module and not at the
end.
In week 8 you will be expected to submit what you have completed so far, via
Blackboard, in order to receive feedback. You will then complete weeks 9 and
10 and summatively submit the journal in week 14.
The Weekly Reflective Journal will be used in conjunction with your Personal
Learning and Development Plan and Interview to work out the final grade for
this module. Submission of all parts of the assessment are required in order to
receive a grade.
Week 1
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you
plan to develop these skills.
In the first week we talked about the module we are going to study, namely personal
development. When I think of personal development, I think of activities that develop our
abilities and potential, but it also builds a different character and helps us achieve what
we set out to do.
I consider myself to have a fairly developed personality, and for my age I am very
mature and happy with myself. but there is always room for improvement and with the
help of this course I hope to develop much more than that because I like to work
constantly on my own person. The topics we will discuss each week will all teach us
methods for personal development.

Week 2
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you
plan to develop these skills.
Week 3
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you
plan to develop these skills.
In the third week I added another chapter for personal learning, namely SWOT analysis. In high
school I used this analysis to establish certain strategies of companies. I was surprised to learn that
through this analysis I can identify myself and group all the skills I have to make the best
decisions.
I have a clear purpose in life and I want to use this analysis to see how I am now and to repeat it
over a period of time to see how exactly I have changed. What I have come to understand is that I
must not be ashamed of my weaknesses and I must be aware of them because everything around
me can be a danger to me in the future.
In the second week we discussed the importance of reflective thinking on certain
situations we go through but also how to adopt a reflective learning style. I think I still
have a lot of new information to remember from now on and to simplify this I want to
understand this concept of reflective learning.
What attracted me the most was Kolbb's perspective, which teaches me to reflect on
experiences that I am aware of and from which I can learn new things for the future.
Reflective thinking also means being my own critic and realizing how beneficial my way
of learning is.

Week 4
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you
plan to develop these skills.
In the fourth week we discussed academic writing and its components. There are many types of
work that we can do, such as an essay, a report, a dissertation, or even a reflective paper.
So far I have only done the essay and I knew what its structure is, but with the help of this
module I managed to learn that there are several types of academic writing and each has its own
unique structure, which we must learn because in an exam will be scored differently. One thing I
still have to work on is the way I express myself, because I don't have a very developed
academic language yet.
Week 5
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you
plan to develop these skills.
This week we continued the topic we started last week and drew a parallel between
academic writing and regular writing that each of us practices daily. It is important to
develop this writing skill because we will use it in many situations.
I managed to realize that I unlike academic writing, where we have a well-defined
structure, arguments based on logic, a coherent content focused on the topic,
In reflective writing we must express our opinion about an experience, is more
descriptive than academic writing and is more about us than a subject. Reflective writing
helps us to reflect on an experience and helps us to learn from it.

Week 6
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you
plan to develop these skills.
Week 7
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you
plan to develop these skills. Use a minimum of one academic source and reference this.
In week six we talked about other personal development techniques, this time we focused
on reading.
Reading is a way of talking to the book and to ourselves. It can be seen as a way in which
the book speaks to us and tries to teach us certain things. It has always been easier to
remember things if we read them and try to create a story out of them.
It would be advisable for students to be as good friends with the books as possible,
because they will be a great support in carrying out the work when they need a source of
inspiration.
In week seven, we discussed the importance of references in our work. The references for
me are like a confession of the fact that I borrowed from the ideas of others to make my
own works. If we use an academic writing by a great author related to our course, it is
advisable to do such research because it is a good way to learn. But if we use the work of
other students and present it as our own, we will surely be caught.
References are used for this purpose. These are usually written at the bottom of each
page for each paragraph, but are also written at the end of the paper in a separate list in
order of use.

Week 8
Please describe in less than 200 words what was discussed in this session and how you
plan to develop these skills. Use a minimum of one academic source and reference this.
This journal should be formatively submitted for feedback, via Blackboard, at the end of this week.
In week eight of the course, we looked at what a successful presentation looks like. First of all, a
successful presentation includes certain skills that some of us already have or that we may
develop in the future. When I talk about skills, I mean public speaking skills, reading skills,
comprehension skills, adaptive skills, and the list goes on and on. All this makes up the picture
of a presentation. I liked the way the skills were presented because it will be easier for us to find
out what we are missing.
