Introduction
The term "bullying" is often used to refer to a wide range of harmful peer interactions such as
physical and verbal abuse, harassment, intimidation, spreading false information, being left out of
group activities, and being left alone. Cyberbullying is becoming more common as people's everyday
lives become more reliant on the Internet and other forms of digital communication.
Discussion
"Cyberbullying" refers to the act of intimidating or harassing someone over the Internet. Mobile
devices, computers, online gaming, instant messaging apps, and social networking sites are all
potential hotspots for this issue to manifest.
To prevent young people from being the source of harm to others, Rethink encourages them to
reconsider their opinions before sharing potentially objectionable information online (
Zhang 2020,
p20 (2)). Bullying, whether in person or online, has the same root cause. Cyberbullying leaves a
digital trail, which might be utilised to end the abuse and teach the bully a lesson.
Since it makes use of patent-pending technologies, Trisha's digital effort to combat online hate
speech has received widespread appreciation and praise. Young and ambitious software developer
Trisha Prabhu wanted to find a permanent solution to cyberbullying. Over 120,000 students have
utilised this resource with no reported problems (
Jia et al, 2022, p10 (1)). The social media industry
also creates educational resources for parents, educators, and students that address the topic of
online safety.
Conclusion
The psychological repercussions of cyberbullying on its victims vary depending on the media used.
Choices about who may see your postings, who can add you as a friend, and how you can react to
cyberbullying rely heavily on the specific platform you're using. Instant respite from cyberbullying is
at your fingertips with the press of a button when you report or block the troublesome people or
content.
