Changemaker Video Midterm Assignment
Overview
In this assignment, your challenge is to craft a captivating video about your chosen
changemaker. You'll blend persuasive storytelling techniques and the insights gleaned
from this session. As you shape your video, it's important to weave in how your selected
changemaker personifies the principles we've examined in this course. This assignment
provides a unique stage for you to blend these concepts with your evolving storytelling
skills, illuminating your chosen changemaker's journey.
Instructions
Step 1:
Select a Changemaker
:
Choose anyone, famous or not, living or past, who you
believe has made significant societal changes.
Step 2:
Craft Your Narrative
:
Film a three-minute (maximum) video where you
articulate a compelling argument for why this person is a changemaker.
Dedicate most of your video to illustrating how this person embodies concepts we have
learned in class and what has made them successful in leading change.
Tip:
Use ChatGPT to help brainstorm ideas, write a script, or get feedback on your
narrative. Start a conversation about your changemaker, discuss their achievements, or
ask for assistance structuring your argument.
Step 3:
Record Your Video
:
Use Zoom, your phone, TikTok, IG, or other recording tools
like Vidyard, Screencastify, etc. You're also welcome to create a slide presentation with
images and facts about your changemaker and record yourself presenting your slides.
Tip:
If you're uncomfortable being on camera, you could use ChatGPT to help script a
voice-over narrative.
Step 4:
Upload Your Video
:
Save your video to your Google Drive to generate a
shareable link for submission. If you're using Vidyard or Screencastify or uploading your
video to a private YouTube channel, TikTok, or IG, you can submit the link to your video
directly. Please ensure the video is viewable by anyone with the link.
