2 5:1 HR Learning Journal Attraction and Recruitment Strategies Recruitment needs to be able to attract potential future employees who have KSAOs (knowledge, skill, ability, and other characteristics) that will help the organization achieve strategic goals (Judge and Kammeyer, 2022). In order to do this, there are important strategies when it comes to attracting and recruiting. The two ways I think will help the organization achieve strategic goals are by the company branding and through social media. First, company branding is one way to help attract and retain talent. Having a strong company brand helps because it lets employees and future employees know what the company does and entails. Also, for the company it helps the organization stay on top of the competition and hire the best talent early. Having the proper branding will attract qualified applicants and keep current employees. It will also help with current employees recommending the employer to other candidates that they may have been working with in the past and knowing they can bring talent to the organization. From experience, because of the company’s brand that was working for I recruited past employees to come apply for the company I was working with. Another way to attract and retain employees is with social media. Recruiters can set up their own profile pages with these websites to encourage potential applicants to apply by making personal contacts (Judge and Kammeyer, 2022). Also, engaging presence on social media will help to promote the organizations in itself and company’s culture. For employees already with the company the company can celebrate the employee’s success or career growth by giving them a dedication on social media. I chose company branding and social media because both show the company’s culture. The company’s culture influences employees and potential employees. Also, company branding,
3 and social media will help with driving business growth and inspire employees to achieve company’s goals. Human resources are involved with employee lifecycle which includes attraction, recruitment, onboarding, retention, development, offboarding, and exit. One connection that I will be explaining is the how human resources is involved with the onboarding process for new hires. HR will start new hire paperwork, give the employee handbook, job training, go over the policies, and tours of the company.
