WEEK 2 ASSIGNMENT 2 Introduction A SWOT analysis is a method for identifying and analyzing internal strengths and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats that shape current and future operations and help develop strategic goals (Kenton, 2023). This will allow the business to stay a strong competitor with other companies alike. Reviewing any weaknesses and strengths is a necessary step for a company to stay relevant. A popular business-like Dove needs to often address any threats to the company to allow them to keep their success. All information gathered to address issues is information from internal sources as well as external forces. Every SWOT analysis identifies strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. It is vital for companies to stay relevant by creating new and unique products. New Production Recommendation A product recommendation that I have for Dove to help boost their brand is their own line of fragrance/perfume. Dove carries a wide range of products such as hair care, deodorant, body wash, lotion, men’s products, and baby products. One product that they do not have than many other brands like them have is body sprays or perfumes. Creating a fragrance line will allow them to compete with big brands such as Bath & Body Works, Native, or even Sol de Janeiro. This will give Dove an edge as no other brand carries as many products as they do as well as fragrances. This will make Dove the largest personal care company with the biggest selection of products. At that point they will become a one stop shop for all care products. This combats any weaknesses as a consumer can buy every personal care product, they could ever need under one brand creating a stronger flow of revenue. Dove can begin by making body sprays with some of their popular deodorant or body wash scents to get consumers intrigued. From their they can gauge interest from consumers and create new and fresh fragrances.
WEEK 2 ASSIGNMENT 3 Advertising When it comes to creating an advertisement for this selected product Dove makes it quite easy. Dove uses a natural beauty approach to advertising their products. It would be very easy to piggyback off of this and use it to show that you can smell as beautiful as you feel. By depicting real women or men using their favorite Dove products and being able to top it off with their favorite fragrance to make them feel as confident as ever within themselves. Depicting the product is also not the only approach Dove should take. When introducing a new product a company can also offer discounts for trying the product, use email promotions, request feedback, or even collaborate with an influencer. Using an influencer as a brand spokesperson can expand your audience and can have a big impact on promoting a product to customers (Editorial Team, 2023). In today’s age social media is the biggest way to reach a large range of people to promote a product. By asking an influencer to give positive endorsements or reviews it can increase sales almost instantly making your new product the one to try! Conclusion A SWOT analysis is used to identify internal strengths and weaknesses as well as any potentially opportunities or threats within them. This will allow the business to stay a strong competitor with other companies alike. Reviewing any weaknesses and strengths is a necessary step for a company to stay relevant.
