Career Planning Worksheet Skills Plan: Write a paragraph or more outlining how you plan to acquire the skills you’ll need to reach your career goal. Consider soft skills (traits that make you a good worker) and hard skills (abilities you learn in school or on the job) in your description. To be part of a Behavior analyst, it is essential to know how to read their accommodation and how you will service your client. One of the skills I need to work on is knowing how to approach behavioral clients because I know I will have some clients who will not want to work with me, or some of them will be aggressive. I’ve been preparing myself with all different kinds of kids because I work in a school, and I’ve been having the experience with some kids can be harder to work with, and some others can be straightforward. I know that when I finish my degree, I will be more prepared because I have been working with a BCBA, and she’s been helping me a lot. Experience Plan: Write a paragraph or more outlining how you plan to gain the experience needed to reach your career goal. I have two years working in a speed classroom, and it has brought me much experience because we have a lot of different scholars. To get better and prepare myself more, I’m planning to find a job in the summer as an RBT because I do want the experience with the paperwork and see how it is servicing different kids. Also, to gain more experience, I would look for videos for examples of how to work with behavioral kids and what to do or how to react if the client is presenting aggression. Lastly, I won't hesitate to ask questions to the BCBA who is observing me, and I will always take her feedback. Course Plan: List courses at Capella that will help you reach your career goal. For each course, write a sentence explaining how it will help you reach your goal. A course that Capella is offering will benefit me is Applied Behavior Analysis. Foundations in this course are more about what the career is about and understanding the concepts of behavior analysis. Ethics for Assistant Behavior Analysts: In this course, I would learn how to react to what to do or my role as an assistant in the behavioral environment. Introduction to Social Psychology will be helpful to me because I will learn how to interact with and influence clients and know what to do or how to approach them. Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences In this course, I would learn human behavior and how to examine it. Some methods that will be important are Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Change Procedures, and Interventions. In these courses, learners would learn how to implement intervention strategies to change clients, and getting an A or higher would be essential. In the course Introduction to Organizational Behavior Management, learners will start practicing based supervision, and we will learn how to make a treatment plan, assess performance issues, and make sure that the changes we will make are appropriate for the client. Lastly, Courses Applied Behavior Analysis Capstone one and two is where we will demonstrate the concepts and principles of ethics, and we will have supervision. It is where we are supposed to show all that we have learned. Resources: Write a paragraph or more describing resources you can use to reach your career goal. Some resources I would use to reach my career goal are always taking notes of everything and saving it if I need to remember something; I would try my best to always do my work on time. In that way, I would understand it more. Since I'm working with kids now, I thought I could start practicing some of the stuff I would learn with my speed scholars. Some of my scholars have problem behaviors. I will practice how to start working with them or getting their attention. Lastly, I would never hesitate if I have a question to ask my coach or BCBA about something. I will make sure I would be able to 4
