Task 1 Issue description The supply chain in the UK and all around the world is very significant as the livelihoods of the people like food, jobs and energy are entities dependent on the resilience and the functioning of the global supply chain. However, it can be said that the uncertainty which is created by the growth of the Covid-19 pandemic from region to region has also had a significant impact on the supply chain. Key operational issues News 1 It has been witnessed in Europe that the labour party has massively avoided commenting on Brexit since January, blaming lack of planning in the face of a large number of the shortages of the EU nations in the employee workforce. Also, it had been witnessed that the chronic labour shortage has led to a crisis in the chains of supply, influencing a very lengthening list of products (Guardian, 2022). The leaders of the industries have confirmed that the cliff edge is caused by Brexit with an absence of the workers filling the gaps left in the haulage industry. News 2: The United Kingdom has emerged from the pandemic of the Covid-19 to identify itself faced amid the onslaught of the latest economic crisis which has left the nation in "a precarious position", which is wanted by the experts. It has been witnessed that the comic reopening has developed the same issues all around the globe, but economists argue that Brexit has exacerbated these problems for Britain ( CNBC, 2022). Causes of the issue News1 The most significant cause to which the nations are facing the issues of supply chain crisis is because of the massive amount of pressure that exists on the sector and there is a very significant amount of chance that they could quickly reach the point of breaking. It shows the establishment of the availability of the labour of the UK food and drink sector. It has been witnessed that there are shortages that cover the entire length of the chain of supply from the inputs at the beginning into farming through those which provide food and drink at the table. The most significant reason that the nations are facing the problems is the perfect storm of labour shortages, skyrocketing natural gas prices and the chain of global supply that has put the nation in a prime position for a complicated winter. The rising requirements as the economies reopen has developed the same issues around the globe. Economists say that Brexit has exacerbated these problems in Britain. Suggestions The nations can develop a management centre for emergencies as during the scenarios of crisis the organisations have to centralise the data and functions for the decision making. Also, it has been witnessed that communication during the crisis is of massive importance as it helps the various organisations to communicate and interact with the various stakeholders like the consumers, media, analysts, suppliers and the community. Also, managing and surviving a disruption in the supply chain means that the organisations would still have a set of suppliers along with a steady flow of materials and parts ( Tien et al. 2018) . Task 2 Question 1: ALDI and similar stores offer different customer experiences. Do you think a similar business model would work in other industries? Please give examples to illustrate your answer. Yes, a similar model would work in the various other industries as the current environment of business has a lot of rivalry among the several competitors in the different industries. It is the reason that the consumer is getting a large variety of options to purchase from. For example, uploading brand food utilises these Strategies for that they can compete with various other traditional brands by efficient inventory management and less investment in several outside nations. Task 3 Example of an organisation with a positive ethical approach Ethical initiatives The organisation which has a very positive and ethical approach is Tesco and it is the largest LGBT colleagues’ network in entire Europe, with around 3,000 members across the entire group of Tesco ( Tesco, 2022). The main objective of the network is basic as they want to support and help and support their lesbian, gay, sexual and transgender employees so that there having enough confidence to work with their maximum potential at the workplace. Tesco provides all its employees which fall under the eligibility community with the most suitable opportunities to interact with new people from several other areas and aspects of a business. The organisation provides several opportunities to make sure that their procedures are developed in a way that they make sure that the trans consumers have the most suitable experience. It has also had several employees in their organisation to make sure that their colleagues understand the best ways to help the consumers who are transitioning. This environment is slowly evolving and developing and the organisation has an incredible network for their colleagues as a group they are continuously looking at several methods to engross the colleagues but they are also Page 5 of 9
alongside finding the best ways so that they can continually develop in their network ( Boutyline and Soter, 2021) . Task 4 Slide 1- Introduction The study will be analysing the human resource management of Marks and Spencers and it would evaluate the influence of the chosen business area on the management of operations. Also, the presentation would be analysing the barriers in the business area and will provide a self-reflection that suggest the positive aspects of the journey and the various areas of improvement. I was able to identify how HR management can contribute towards the organisation and its importance selection of the employees. potential to enhance the productivity of the course and seamless attainment of the business goals set by the organisation. It has allowed me to understand the skill gaps of communication which I have which are very necessary for developing HR managerial skills. I have also found that I have to work on my interpersonal skills which are very necessary for professional and personal growth. Slide 8- Conclusion The study has discussed human resource management and its influence on several operations and their management on the business. It has also evaluated the various barriers in challenges that exist in the management of human resources.
