Project objectives Give a short summary of the literature on the topic Human capital is nowadays perceived as a valuable and desirable good, which, when properly applied, stimulates the growth of the company’s market value and, in the long run, proves to be much more important than the possession and use of material resources and financial capital. employee development, including the continuing generation and exchange of knowledge and experience, is concluded to be the key driver of value growth in any kind of organisation. Training should have specific goals which are in one of these three categories: increasing the personal effectiveness of employees (such as competence improvement); increasing the added value being achieved currently (such as the use of new systems and better methodologies); generating future
value (e.g. developing the expertise and potential of people). Professional development can be understood as broadening the knowledge and skills necessary for the proper performance of tasks in a current position while developing additional competences in terms of promotion, transfer to another position or organisational change. Professional development is used to achieve a strictly planned goal over a certain period of time, requiring adequate preparation for career planning while assisting in an employee’s personal development. What tools do you need to prepare in order to conduct your research? The method and approach of conducting research would be discussed in this section along with the way of collecting and analysing the data. Research Design The strategy that would be used in collection of the data, analysis and interpretation of data is identified in the research design. Research design is basically a plan of action that shows the way on the basis of which the research would be conducted. It is basically based on all the steps and approaches that would be included in the completion of the research project. Mixed research method, qualitative research method and the quantitative research method are three important methods of research that could be used by the researcher. A case study of Barclays Bank, London would be used in the research for addressing the problem in effective way. The approach that would be use is a quantitative research approach (Zangirolami, Echeimberg and Leone, 2018). Data collection method The researchers in the primary data collection technique are directly involved in the collection of data and information. Some of the key tools used by the researcher in primary sources include the observation interviews, experiments and questionnaires. In context of collection of the data, quantitative questionnaire of a closed-ended structure was used (Wang and Huang, 2016). In opposite to it secondary sources are also sued for the collection of data which include the data and information which had been collected by other researchers in the past. Some of these resources include the other dissertations on the topics, periodicals,
government publications, media articles, web pages and internet sites, text books, and academic journals (Moran, Rook and Smith, 2020). Target Population Employees of Lloyd banks in UK is selected as target population for this research study with special emphasis on the Branches operating in London, In context of selection of sample in this research, a random sampling technique would be used (Ogata, Tokuhashi and Tsushima, 2016). Have you completed the Ethics Approval Form (see template below), and do you have consent if required for your research? Yes What ethical issues do you have to resolve? One of the most critical elements of research is ethical issues. It is the key factor to remember while a scholar conducts his study process. Ethics is an integral feature of the academic arena in various domains. Research includes many aspects, including different individuals, different ideas, varied sources of knowledge, intellectual properties etc. With a broad range of evidence is also exposed to multiple complications and often disregard. Ethical consideration is a collection of guidelines and criteria that ensure full retention of the accuracy and consistency of the study. The consolidation of different data sources involves diligent compliance with core principles to determine the researcher's authority to use these data sets while respecting the autonomy, security, confidentiality, human right to privacy of the individuals and the data source which are involved within the research arrangement. The most critical feature of the research is to assure credibility, responsibility, reciprocal regard, and neutrality. A researcher is responsible for ensuring that all the information related to the study is correctly maintained and is not accessible to any immoral people. While conducting this particular research, thorough importance on ethical compliance will be regarded and the research will prioritize the ethical concerns while collecting and storing data sets. The researcher will be liable for the adherence to the standard principles diligently to maintain the reliability of the research. How much time will you need to conduct your research?
