Nicholas Balo M1. Feedback loops In researching feedback loops in the body, we can gain an understanding of how both positive and negative loops work in the body to maintain the body’s homeostasis. One of the largest most powerful feedback loops in the body includes the brain. The brain signals muscles and nerves in the body allowing us to function. This firing of the brain allows for the feedback loop to maintain the systems in the body. The brain uses a negative feedback loop which negative feedback reduces change. The parts of a feedback loop include the brain, the stimulus, reception, processing, This can include thoughts, emotions, hormone levels to name a few of the stimuli that can impact the brain functions and homeostasis of the brain. In researching additional diseases that can affect the homeostasis of the brain, it can include; diseases such as cancer, brain tumors, cognitive impairments, autism, neurological impairments to name a few. These disorders and diseases can impact the body’s ability to maintain homeostasis. Diseases can send signals from the brain to parts of the body to try to fight disease and maintain the body’s homeostasis. The brain uses this feedback loop to signal for the body to function.
