HUM 100 Module Four: Project Draft 1 Perspective in the Humanities Lauren F Caruso Southern New Hampshire University Department of Nursing and Healthcare Professions Professor Wendell Smith Module Four: Project Draft September 24, 2023
HUM 100 Module Four: Project Draft 2 September 11, 2001, is a day that no American will ever forget. The horrific attack on the twin towers led the creators of the 9/11 Memorial to create a memorial where people could visit and morn the lives of those lost on that tragic day. They were inspired by the loss of the families to engrave the names of every person that died into the walls of the memorial. By doing so, they allowed for those that died to never be forgotten and to be remembered by name rather than just someone that died in the attack on the towers. Questions about the relationship between culture and expression: What happened on September 11, 2001? How does the artist express the values, beliefs, and experience of the United States? How does the 9/11 memorial express the memory of the 9/11 attacks? What symbols are used in the memorial? What do they signify? Questions about your values and how they are shaped by the expression of others: How did the attack on the twin towers change my culture views? How did the attack on the twin towers impact my life and the lives of others? How have the expression of others changed my views of the 9/11 attacks? To answer the questions asked, I would first reflect on what I was doing on the morning of September 11, 2001. I would reflect on how those events led me to my values and beliefs today. I would research the monuments that were created as a memorial to the attack on September 11, 2001, to determine how the creators expressed themselves and how they reflect upon the loss of lives.
