Graduate Essay 2: Accomplishments
Tell us about your three most significant accomplishments. Why do you view them as such? What
lessons did you learn from them?
Life as a Romanian living in the Texas has been a adventure for my parents and myself. I
am the embodiment of being a rising star, because of everything I have accomplished within 22
years. Throughout my years at Texas State Univeristy I have encounter with many issues and
enjoyed many memories. My three most significant accomplishments are my ability maintain
multiple leadership positions, remain motivated when faced with medical concerns and issues,
and continue to strive for my dreams.
Upholding multiple positions and maintain volunteer activities throughout my years at
Texas State University is a big accomplishment, because it developed the person I am. Holding
multiple leadership positions in my multicultural sorority, Lambda Xi Delta, business honor
society, Beta Alpha Psi, and honor society, Alpha Lambda Delta, have taught me how to
confidently publicly speak, understand emotional intelligence, and resolve conflict. All my
volunteering done around San Marcos with the San Martians to help better our environment and
raise awareness on food insecurity has crafted me into a well-developed, motivated person who
is willing to help anyone in need. Throughout my efforts in addressing food insecurity at our
university with Beta Alpha Psi we achieved first place at our regional conference in New Orleans
and we packaged over 20,500 meals for Hays County. Coming from poverty and not knowing
where my next meal was always a concern, so helping other people confront that issue makes me
happy. With my involvement within 4 years has taught me how to professionally present myself
and lessen the stress of problems for others.
Within the last two years I have faced many medical challenges, physical and mental. I
have undergone a life changing surgery to fight off diabetes and obesity, breaking both legs,

damaging my head, nose, and hand, COVID-19, and toxic people tried to suppress me. Along
with this trauma, my mind began to fight against me. However, I refused to let these challenges
get in the way of completing my bachelor’s degree and striving to enter the Master of Science in
Accounting and Information Technology (MSAIT). I’ve learned through my medical challenges,
that you shouldn’t let them affect your determination and motivation to achieve your goals.
Another accomplishment I will always be proud of myself is my ability to remain of my
academic journey to achieve my dreams in becoming a forensic accountant. Many people tried to
convince me to change my interest and path, but I knew deep in my heart that I am right.
Regardless of the people and injuries I faced with in four years, I stayed on journey in the
academia world. The lesson I learned is to accept advice, but not let it consume you and always
follow your own aspirations.
Allowing myself to maintain leadership positions, continue my education during medical
hardships, and remain on my path are three accomplishments I will always be proud of. I am the
first American in my family to apply and will get a master’s degree at an creditable university. I
overcame so much in my life like learning a difficult language like English, defeat diabetes, push
every bone and nerve in my body to earn my spot at Texas State Univeristy and live my
American Dream, while making my parents proud of me.
