Psychological Testing and Clinical Diagnosis
Thorough assessment and proper diagnosis are the foundations for clinicians to ensure that their client will receive effective treatment. In order to do so, mental health professionals must closely understand the presenting issues, the symptoms and how they are affecting their client’s life. In order be successful a counselor takes time to understand the disorder and its symptoms, explores tools that would be used to help in diagnosis and educates themselves on the
testing options to use for diagnosis. Bipolar Disorder
According to the American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (2013), bipolar disorder is defined as a Tools Used for Diagnosis
