Webb said that coaching helps people to find solutions and grow. Likewise, coaching involves listening to others, asking questions to deepen thinking, allowing others to find their answers, and doing it all to make people feel empowered and responsible enough to act (Webb, 2019). Thus, inspiration, the establishment of mutual trust and respect with the athlete(s), and the
creating a personal connection with the athlete(s) are some of the basic theories that help develop
effective life coaches. (Figgins et al., 2019). First, inspiration; it was suggested that coaches might influence athletes by altering how they see their potential. One athlete, for instance, spoke about how their coach's inspiration changed their long-term objectives. (Figgins et al., 2019).
Second, there must be mutual trust and respect between the coach and the athlete(s). (Figgins et al., 2019). At the same time, participants said that it would be impossible for coaches to encourage athletes without trust. (Figgins et al., 2019). Third, making a personal connection with the athlete(s); the relationship between the coach and the athlete affected how motivating people thought a coach was. (Figgins et al., 2019). Also, athletes and coaches agree that personal connections are at least as important as coaching skills. (Figgins et al., 2019). At the same time, the Scriptural and Spiritual Foundations are focus, balance, productivity, and fulfillment. Finally, "Are you unaware that in a race, everyone competes, but only one receives the prize?" Therefore,
"sprint to win!" (1 Corinthians 9:24-27, New Living Translation). Overall, one must realize that even life coaches are in the race to win their client’s confidence.
