Sarah Bannister Step 7: Solution proposal assignment What is the problem? Impact of a turn away from full works of literature in favor of social media. What do we know about the problem? There is a wary thought process that social media is going to take over full works of literature in the near future. The public may stop purchasing physical books because it is easier and more time efficient, not to mention less costly to search a headline on the internet, than going out and buying a book. What information do we need to solve the problem? People can create and attend literary Festivals and Events. Attending literary festivals and events, which often feature authors, book signings, and discussions can inspire a love for literature and expose readers to new works. It is essential to make sure that there is a balance in this generation between the use of social media and the love of full texts of literature. Social media can be a tool for promoting books and reading if used properly but also limited so that it is not our complete source for information. The key is to create an environment that encourages and celebrates literature, I think that festivals and events are a good way to get people away from their screens and find their love of reading.
