Anne Frank
The Diary of a Young Girl, written by Anne Frank herself, is a moving story of Anne's feelings,
thoughts, and observations throughout World War II. When I decided to read The Diary of a Young
Girl, I expected it to be mainly about the war, concentration camps, and the way the whole outside
world has dealt with the war. In actuality, the book was about the days and nights Anne Frank
experienced living in the secret annex. This made the book better because it opened my eyes to the
reality that Anne was a real person just like me. She had feelings, thoughts, friends, and family.
Anne was just an ordinary girl who went through something extraordinary. Having a great interest in
WWII, I have read many books about the topic. This one, however,

She would discuss places with such passion and detail that it felt like you were there with her
looking at the same thing. When she talked about her new secret annex I felt like I was walking the
halls with her. At one point in the annex she talked about how the doorways are low, so they would
nail wool and cloth to the tops of the doorways so that they would stop getting bruises on their
foreheads. This made me laugh. I pictured tall and lanky Otto Frank banging his head on the
doorway. Also, Anne was just talking about her favorite fountain pen for a page and I could tell you
way more than you would need to know about it. The whole book Anne talks with such detail, it is

Long ago, when I was real young I was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder. A severe
condition in which two or more distinct identities are present in–and alternately take control of–an
individual. I would say that I had just turned 6 because if my recollection is anything that can be
relied on. my father was just sent to the Attica correctional facility a little before my last therapy
session with Miss Ramsey. My last session with that woman was the one where she told me I'm a
bag of losing screws. DID has several symptoms, one being a loss of time or blacking out. Before
anyone says anything, no, drugs are not used. It happens without any drugs or alcohol in the system.
My father's wife, a woman I can barely regard as a human and the person that was legally my
caregiver at the time came to my sessions and because I was a minor my therapist legally had to
inform my guardian that I was no longer mentally healthy and so in response to the new
information, my father flabby–witted twinkle–headed crotch cleaner of a wife thought it was
appropriate to say in response to my therapists diagnose " Are Ya sure she didn't just get into some
of my pills and went on a little trip." and all that I could think in that moment, as unintelligent as it
may seem, was that this whore is a complete and total cunt. It's truly a freaky feeling to realize that
your life went on without you and to have an ignorant caregiver that doesn't

Introduction Of Anne Frank
Born Annelies Marie "Anne" Frank on June 12, 1929, in Frankfurt Germany to Edith and Otto
Frank. Anne a vibrant dark haired, brown eyed, Jewish girl whose life was shared with an older
sister by the name of Margot. Her parents were liberal Jews. They lived in a community of Jewish
and Non–Jewish citizens of various religions. Anne's parents were educated people, her father was
most interested in scholarly pursuits and had an extensive library. Both parents encouraged Anne
and Margot to read at an early age to ensure for a better education.
In 1933 early in the regime of Adolf Hitler, Otto Frank was offered a position to start a company in
Amsterdam. Otto prepared himself and moved to Amsterdam and a year later February 1934 Edith,
Margot, and young Anne joined him. The Franks also felt that they would be safer in another
country. They also felt that the Nazi government would respect the neutrality of Holland. In 1941,
after German forces occupied the Netherlands Anne was compelled to transfer from public school to
a Jewish school where she was forced to wear the symbolic Jewish Star on all her clothing and go to
school with other Jewish children. When Anne's older sister Margot was faced with deportation
supposedly to a ( Forced Labour Camp) The Franks decided to go into hiding for fear of losing their
daughter.
On July 6, 1942 the very next day the Franks went into hiding in a makeshift quarter in an empty
space at the back of Otto Frank's company building. They referred to it as the Secret Annex. They
were accompanied in hiding by Otto's business partner Hermann van Pels his wife Auguste and son
Peter. They were helped by friends Kleiman, Kugler, Jan and Miep Gies and Bep Voskuijl. These
friends provided food and information about the outside world.
At this time Anne was about 12 1/2 years old still full of life and happiness. Her expectancy was not
to have been in the Secret Annex for the long years that hid before her. During the day everyone was
to be very still and quiet because the Annex was over the offices and they could be heard roaming
about by other visitors to the office and be exposed. As night crept in everyone became relaxed and
laughed talked and tried to relax as much as normal,

Anne Frank Persuasive Essay
It is my fear that through the evolution of mankind that history has continued to repeat itself. As
Anne frank believed that the good in people could still live on, even through the great suffrage many
have faced in the conflicts of war. I would like to think this is true, however times are progressing
and one may only assume we are nearing our next repetition before it will be our moral
responsibility to stop such dismay. Anne Frank believed that her only purpose was to stick to her
ideals, no matter how inconceivable they may be. However, I cannot fathom people descending to
such a low level as the Nazi's and their actions to diminish an entire race. As Ann Frank believed
there will still be good in people no matter the state of all society.

What Are Some Life Lessons From Anne Frank
The Lessons of Anne
While in the annex Anne gained some life lessons that are fairly significant. Despite entering hiding
at only thirteen years of age she started to have trouble understanding how the world was changing.
Confused on who she should ask she was left alone to her own thoughts wandering about through
the words of her diary. This made her rethink many moments of her life which helped her gain many
lessons about friendship, love, and emotions. This proved that even in hard times Anne is continuing
to be observant of what she can learn while staying in the annex. The life lessons that Anne gains are
shown in the text of the Anne frank play. In the play they're moments that show how Anne gained
life lessons that could be used in the real world. Anne said this in the Diary of Anne Frank:
I'm sorry, Mother. I'm going to Peter's room. I'm not going to let Petronella Van Daan spoil our
friendship. Mrs. Frank hesitates for a second, then goes out, closing the door after her. She gets a
pack of playing cards and sits at the center table, playing solitaire. In Anne's room Margot hands the
finished skirt toAnne. As Anne is putting it on, Margot takes off her high–heeled shoes and stuffs
paper in the toes so that Anne can wear them. (Goodrich Hackett 798–791)
This quote shows how Anne is learning how friendship is an essential part of life and that many
people do not understand the main purpose of it. Friendship is an emotion Anne has experienced
with Peter and

How Did Anne Frank Stay Optimistic
Anne Frank was a fearless woman even when she was faced with her own death. Optimistic until the
end, she was able to see the good even in a terrible situation. During World War 2, the Nazis in
Germany were hunting down Jewish people. Anne Frank's family needed to hide because they were
Jewish people. Anne was trying to stay optimistic even though it might be her last day on earth.
First, Anne lets a complete stranger Mr. Dussel in her own room to sleep. Also, Anne loved to write
good things in her diary. Finally, Anne thought that the Annex was like a summer vacation house,
but in reality was in was an attic. Anne always tried to stay optimistic instead of thinking negative
things. Anne had an optimistic view about life and always wanted to find a pencil to jot good
thoughts down on paper even when Anne and her family were in danger.
When she was told about the secret hideout, Anne was curious about what's going into hiding was
all about. Also, hiding with the Frank's family

In the Annex, Anne helped her father hang curtains to cover the windows that helped keep everyone
out of the sight of the Nazis. Anne offered her help to everyone who needed help especially Peter.
Anne helped Peter a lot with his French class homework even though he did not seem very thankful
for the help. Asking questions is what Anne did a lot to find out information on relationships and the
process of hiding from the Nazis.
In conclusion, Anne Frank was an amazing young woman. While held in a concentration camp in
Nazi Germany
, she wrote numerous entries in her diary that focused on the good in people rather
than the bad. Anne Frank inspired many people with her optimism in the face of tragedy. The world
today should use Anne Frank as an example of how to view all people regardless of ethnicity, color,
or religion. It would be wonderful to focus on the good in people instead of the

Literary Analysis Essay On Anne Frank

English 5–6

Literary Analysis: Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl Discrimination is now becoming a well–
known term around the world; many acknowledge it from the time they came across: sexism,
racism, ageism, and the type Anne Frank came across, persecution. Anne Frank was a thirteen–year–
old Jewish girl who was hiding from the German Army or the Nazi's, as they are better recognized
back then. Her life story consisted of constantly escaping and being in isolation from those who
wanted her dead; it was a difficult time to live in. Anne Frank was attacked because of her
differences; Adolf Hitler (leader of the Nazi's) was killing anyone who was not classified as "pure"
or part of the "superior race".

Though, this girl was one of the many victims that was forced to give up her freedom for her safety.
It always seemed to her that life was cut short and was limited as to what her family and she could
do. She once stated, "I don't think I shall ever feel really at home in this house (Frank 20). Home
always seems to be a place where children feel safe and where they sense comfort; Anne's
opportunity to have these qualities were stripped away. Though before that, throughout the 1930's,
she lived a relatively happy and normal childhood. Frank had many friends, Dutch and German,
Jewish and Christian, and she was a bright and inquisitive student (Anne Frank Biography). But by
May 1940, Anne wrote in her diary, "The good times were few and far between: first there was the
war, then the capitulation and then the arrival of the Germans, which is when the trouble started for
the Jews
" (Frank 4). Her life was driven by fear and threat; she was forced to live an unwanted life.
It did not take long for Anne to be forced to grow up and quit fantasizing about such life. Her life
was played out as a deck of cards the Chancellor of Germany, Adolf Hitler, was playing

Anne Frank Theme Essay
Ever played a game of hide and seek? Well it was slightly like that for the Franks (A Jewish family
living during the Holocaust) except they were forced to play, and if caught the consequences were
deadly. The theme of Anne Frank is human growth involves pain, this is the theme because life can't
flow smoothly without a few bumps, there's always a few things you have to get past first. Anne
Frank and her family were forced into hiding because they were Jewish, and Jewish people were
discriminated against and killed in concentration camps during the Holocaust
.
One example in which this theme is used is when the Franks go into hiding, they had to go into
hiding and live their for as long they had to in to remain alive, which was two years before

Informative Essay On Anne Frank
Anne Frank was a Jew during World War Two, at that time Anne and her family were in hiding for 2
years. She wrote a diary about her time in World War Two. After in hiding for the 2 year, the Frank's
were captured and sent away. Anne Frank passed away in one of the camps, leaving her diary in the
hands of her father. Otto Frank was the only survivor of all the families in hiding with him. He later
gifted the diary to the World War Two memorial museum. In her diary, Anne stated that, "In spite of
everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." Why would she feel that way towards
everyone at that time, even the people who wanted her dead? Anne was a very helpful free spirited
girl how had many great characteristics, as you can read she quotes," Let me help you, do you live
alone, have you no family at all?" During that moment Mr.Dussel was just

that's what she meant. Same with her mother, a parent trying to stay harmonious at that time with
children of your own is very hard. Anne's mother didn't pay much diligence to her because her mind
was on the war. My finale responds to the following question (Why do you think Anne Frank felt
that way during the war?) It does not matter who you are and what you do. A lot of people make
mistakes, and during World War Two there was a lot of them. Anne knew that Jews were getting

Anne Frank Essay
The Holocaust had various effects on millions of Jews. Anne Frank's experience differed from other
experiences Jewish children had. At the same time, however, there were common factors in each of
their lives. From their way of living to emotional consequences, the Holocaust was a difficult
situation for all of these children.
Proceeding with everyday life was challenging for Jewish children. Anne Frank along with her
family and other Jews had their freedom stripped away because of the Nazis. They had very little
supplement and were forced to adjust to a new way of living during hiding. Jewish families around
them were being taken away. Unlike Anne Frank, though, some children had to work a job while
hiding according to "Hidden Children in France During the Holocaust
." A number of children even
had to change their names. Anne had the privilege to live with her family while some children like
the French Jews had "lost contact and were alone, relying only on their 'adopted' family" (Berman).
Anna in When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit moved to several countries having to be accustomed with
new languages and traditions. Anne Frank only stayed in one place. Their troubling efforts to
continue on with their daily lives during the Holocaust gave people a glimpse of the multiple
impacts the war had on the Jewish people.
The Holocaust had forced the Jewish to alter their lives, but Anne Frank and some Jewish children
seemed to managed. For those who were in hiding, they tried to be regulated with their new way of
living–whether it was temporary or not. Jewish children and their families attempted to normalize
their situation and started practicing activities they would regularly do. Anne Frank and Menachem
Frenkel continued their studies. Anna continued to attend school. However, based on the play The
Diary of Anne Frank, Anne Frank and the other members of the Annex still celebrated Jewish
holidays. Menachem Frenkel did not and "only celebrated Christian holidays" (Berman). But
traveling was not an issue for either of them. In When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, Anna, along with
her parents and her brother, adjusted to new communities and met new friends. Anne Frank and
Menachem Frenkel did not move around as much. Throughout

Anne Frank Changes
The holocaust was a horrible time in people's lives and it killed six million people. Even though this
happened to so many people Anne Frank was someone that so many people look up to because of
her diary that she wrote during this time. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Danns all spent 25
months in the secret annex. Dussel was someone that came in later so it was very tight for 8 people
to be living under certain circumstances for that long. They hoped to stay hidden until they were
liberated but they were caught and sadly the only one that lived through the concentration camps
was Mr.Frank. Many historical events took place in Anne Frank
. Even though most of these things
occurred while they were in hiding, it still changed the characters mood and relationships.
To start Miep had been coming almost everyday to bring them food and get them things they need,
and she had just shown up with very exciting news for the families. "Mr. Frank . . . the most
wonderful news! . . . The invasion has begun!" (Hacket, 179) The first thing that stood out to me
was that by Miep telling them this news, relationships of the characters change from being mad at
each other to being happy towards each other because they think they are going to be saved. "We've
all done things that we're ashamed of... Didn't you hear what Miep said? The invasion has come!
We're going to be liberated! This is a time to celebrate! [He embraces Mrs. Frank and then hurries to
the cupboard and gets the cognac and a

Essay on Themes in The Diary of Anne Frank
Themes in The Diary of Anne Frank
"Anne Frank" is a diary written by a teenage girl during the Nazi Occupation in World War Two.
The story starts when Anne Frank receives a diary as a 13th birthday present, from her father, Otto
Frank.
There are a several themes of this diary, it deals with the problems of growing up, and the affects
war has on her life and love
. As it is a diary it expresses these themes in a very personal way.
The story is mainly set in Amsterdam during the Nazi Occupation in World War Two where at first
life is good and all is well for Anne and her family, it then moves on to things worsening for the
Franks and other Jewish families as the Nazi influence grows stronger and

Then suddenly the ordinary Anne slipped away and a second Anne took her place, a second Anne is
not reckless and jocular, but the one that loves and wants to be gentle." Peter also becomes more and
more in love with Anne; "Peter loves me not as a lover but as a friend and grows more affectionate
day by day." . As she spends time with Peter there relationship is growlingly noticeable and she does
love him. After more and more of Anne's diary is read you begin to understand her more and more.
Some of her habits, good and bad become less noticeable and she becomes more and more
predictable. Her attitude towards boys has changed a lot as well, before she used to be very
flirtatious and would have boys chasing her around; "I can remember a time where I would get
excited over a boy kissing me on the cheekâ?¦"
"I can perfectly well remember that there was a time when a deep blue sky, the song of the birds,
moonlight and flowers would have never kept me spellbound. That's changed since I've been here."
Anne's experience in the

Argument Essay About Anne Frank
How would you feel if you had to go into hiding for 2 years? Anne Frank had to go into hiding with
her family, the Van Daan family, and Mr. Dussel. They all were in a small annex above Mr. Frank's
old business. As you can imagine there were a lot of fighting and at the end Anne still said "In spite
of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." I agree with Anne because everything
they all went through in 2 years: people stealing food, fighting almost everyday, and families almost
getting thrown out of the annex, she still believed that people were good at heart. The reason I agree
with Anne is that she was trying to change even though people were mean. At least she was trying to
fix her attitude unlike others. Although I can see why other people would argue that some people are
bad at heart, because Mr. Van Daan and his selfishness, and greediness. Though there were many
acts of kindness the one that caught my eye is after Anne had a nightmare and is talking to Mr.
Frank. On pg. 65 Anne and Mr. Frank is talking: Mr. Frank: There is so little that we parents can do
to help our children. We can only try to get a good example–point the way. The rest you must do
yourself. You must build your own character. Anne: I'm trying. Really, I am. (She lies back more
relaxed.)Every night before I go to sleep, I think back over all the things I did that day that were
wrong – like putting the wet mop in Mr. Dussel's bed – and this thing now with mother. I day to
myself, that was wrong. I make up my mind, I'm never going to do that again. Never! Of course I
may do something worse – but at least I'll never do that again. (The medicine begins to work. She
becomes relaxed and drowsy.) I have a nicer side, Father – a sweeter, nicer side. But I'm scared to
show it. During this scene, Anne confessed that she had a nice side, but she was scared to show it.
She would be nice, but she did not know what people would think about her. I think this is a big act
of kindness because when you dig deeper and read on, you can find that she told Mr.Frank that the
mean Anne comes out and the nice Anne stays on the inside. This shows how hard she has tried and
nothing would work, she was kind hearted and felt differently

Examples Of Argumentative Essay On Anne Frank
Argument Essay
Are people aware of their own good nature, are others aware of their good nature? Anne Frank's
statement, that people are truly good at heart, is true. The current generation and the past generation
has had its faults, it's troubles and events. For instance, the Holocaust and the recent Florida school
shooting. Yet, there is always good in the world, no matter the tyrant. People will sacrifice their own
for others. They have the ability to change their mind from the worst, to the best. Deep down,
everyone cares for something.
People will sacrifice their own for others. Everyone makes a sacrifice, whether it be today or a
century ago. For instance, The Frank family and the Van Daan family in the Annex during the

and Mrs. Frank sleep in the main area. Mr. Frank answers their questions, that "Please. I've thought
this out for weeks. It's the best arrangement. The only arrangement," (Goodrich, PDF 707). Instead
of making the Van Daans sleep in the main room, the Franks sacrifice their own living space for the
other family. They are willing to give away their own comfort and personal needs for the Van Daans
to have their own privacy. Meanwhile, later on, a woman, Miep, brings things for the group in the
annex, while risking her life to do so. We hear this in one of Anne Frank
's diary entries. She writes
that, "The people from whom Miep got our ration books have been arrested. So we have had to cut
down on food supply," (Goodrich, 497). Miep had been risking her life to get these ration books,
illegally, for the family, and now has to find a way to get more food for the family while Mr. Kraler,
another caretaker of the family, is in the hospital. Miep had befriended Anne and the family, and was
willing to put everything on the line just for them. On more recent terms, a football coach of the
recent Florida school shooting, was truly a hero and sacrificed his own life for the students of the
school. In the

Anne Frank Research Paper
Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl described the ordeal of a young girl named Anne Frank. The
diary was written over a period of two years. She obtained her diary on her thirteenth birthday and
she cherished it very much. At first, she wrote about her life in Amsterdam and lightly described the
movement against the Jews. However, "After May 1940 good times rapidly fled: first the war, then
the capitulation, followed by the arrival of the Germans, which is when the sufferings of us Jews
really began" (Frank 6/20/42). When the Nazis called to take Margot away on Thursday, 9 July,
1942, Anne and her family moved with the Van Daans and their son to the "Secret Annexe." The
"Secret Annexe" were a few rooms hidden behind Mr. Frank's old office.

Her thoughts and her style of writing were affected by the ordeal that she went through. When she
first obtained her diary, she wrote about her life in Amsterdam and her "boyfriend" Harry Goldberg.
"It's easy to see that Harry is in love with me, rather fun for a change" (Frank 7/3/42). As time
passed by, she started to write about more mature concepts, such as the war. "Every night hundreds
of planes pass over Holland on their way to German cities, to sow their bombs on German soil... As
for us, we're quite fortunate. Luckier than millions of people... We're so selfish that we talk about
"after the war" and look forward to new clothes and shoes when actually we should be saving every
penny to help others when the war is over, to salvage whatever we can" (Frank 1/13/41). Another
thing that changed was her writing style. Before, she wrote in a simple manner. "Now I must stop.
Bye–bye, we're going to be great pals!" (Franks 6/14/42). But, gradually, she began to write in a
more complex manner. "It's difficult in times like these: ideals, dreams and cherished hopes rise
within us, only to be crushed by grim reality" (Frank 7/15/44). Although, Anne Frank remained the
same innocent girl she was at the beginning of the diary, she matured in tremendous ways
throughout her experiences and this maturity was reflected through her

was very "simple". My siblings and I all had these "classic" names and none of us knew why. Once
when I was about 9, I decided to ask. Why was my name Anne? What was the significance of the
name? My answer was Anne Frank
. Most people know the story of Anne Frank. She went from a
privileged life to one in hiding and one of torture. Anne Frank is very influential because of how she

family's ancestors had lived in the city for hundreds of years and had become known for their wealth
in the banking and commerce world (Anne Frank). Anne and her older sister Margot were born to
Jewish parents Otto, a banker and business owner, and Edith. Anne was often described as prankish,
an average student, sociable, well liked, and fun loving. She often talked in class and was no
stranger to being reprimanded by a teacher (Anne(lies Marie) Frank). When Anne was young, her
family moved to Amsterdam. Anne quickly made new friends and learned the new language. She
was known
