Anthropology 136B, Fall 2023 Third Essay Prompt for Radical Hope Jonathan Lear argues that Plenty Coup’s dreaming and imaginative processes are an integral part of his movement towards “radical hope” in the aftermath of social violence and cultural devastation. Why does he argue this? What is the evidence he uses to support this argument? Lear also argues that Plenty Coup’s hope and leadership are acts of courage and wisdom. How so? Do you agree or disagree?
