Be sure you have read and studied all the Content Topics, viewed and explored the power points, videos, websites, and Summary and Reflection. Think and write about the following three (3) questions. Can you fully meet the learning outcomes for this module? I can fully meet the learning outcomes for this module after reviewing all the materials and videos of this module I have gained new information about the importance of family involvement and ways to encourage it. I already knew that family/guardians are the child’s first teachers and creating the connection between both worlds are beneficial for the child’s developmental growth. What have you learned that is most meaningful and valuable to you in this module? I found that literacy development was the most valuable and meaningful it can be applied in a classroom by the teacher developing meaningful exercises that allow students to apply new information and asking insightful questions that concentrate on the larger significance rather than small aspects. How might you use what you learned in your future work with children and families related to early language and literacy development? To provide opportunities to identify web resources that will assist in supporting families with their involvement in their child’s early literacy development. To encourage parents to be active participants by answering their children’s questions, pointing to letters, taking them to the library, providing a wide range of experiences, and initiating functional literacy activities.
