Black saddle area with tan on legs and face. Tend to be 21-23 inches at the shoulder and around 40-65 pounds. Flat skulled and elongated snout with small eyes and a muscular squarish body. Distinguishing Performance traits: Bred to be an independent hunter for otters, vermin, rates, foxes, and martens Age at Puberty 10-11 months Number offspring born alive/weaned Average of 9 puppies per litter Conception rate (for the average dog) AI: 54.7% fresh and 39% frozen Natural: 80% Birth Weight Puppy weight should be around 5-10lbs Mature Weight Males/Females Male: 50-65lbs Female: 40-55lbs Weaning/Yearling/Pubertal Weight 30lbs around 3 months/45-65lbs full grown/45-65lbs Mature Height Males/Females Male:22-24 inches Female:22-24 inches (slightly shorter) Post Weaning Growth/Egg/Milk Production Daily milk yields of bitches averaged 964g at 19 days and 1054g at 26 days. Primary use to mankind for companion/exotic animals or role in mating system (paternal, maternal, dual) for food animals: Today we use Airedales as companion animals. Originally, they were bred and used for hunting.
