Answer 1b.) Since my prediction was that the species evolved from a common ancestor who initially had the same general arrangement of bones on its hip structure, one evidence that helps support this prediction is the idea of structural homology. Both Aquaticus maximus and Aborealis fidgetis have the same basic pattern of the hipbone of their ancestor but in this case, are classified to have different functions. When their common ancestor adapted to various selective pressures, this caused the common ancestor to either dwell on the land or stay underwater therefore influencing its hip bones to either increase its swimming speed or jump in a distance from tree to tree. This is why both of the species exhibit the same physical structures but completely differ in function.
