Memory Ethics A pro of eugenics is they are helping to determine whether someone will be born with a genetic disease, so it helps to determine it beforehand and think about solutions. More pros are that a potential parent can try and choose what gender they want, it can help to give child traits the parents may want them to have, and it also helps to show us how far science has come. Cons associated with eugenics are not many people can afford this kind of care, it can create less diversity, it can led to a pressure of a child always having to be perfect, there may be a large discrepancy in genders possibly with more males than females which would led to an imbalance where a man might not be able to find someone to have a child with, and it is simply going against the surprise and natural part of birth. I do not believe that people should use eugenics. I believe that eugenics takes the fun out of the surprise of finding out the gender and by choosing gender it would create an imbalance in gender. Potential problems with an imbalance of gender are less procreation and it would create new social norms for men if there were less women. There is something inherently wrong in humans if they consider one gender superior to the other, both should be seen as equals that have different sets of problems. I find that some favor males more than females for the concept that they are easier to raise but they come with their own set of issues. If a person learns that their parents used eugenics to create “the perfect baby or person” they may feel pressure or feel as though they are not meeting their parents' expectations. It creates too much uniformity

throughout different children with eugenics because of the uniformity race and all parents want their children to be hard working, intelligent, kind, respectful so they all grow up with the same values it creates a lack of personality. Eugenics also takes the challenging work out of parenting that makes everything worth it. Therefore, I believe eugenics should not be used.
