Crime prevention strategies for juveniles consist of three major points: prevention, early
intervention, providing opportunities to develop positive behavior. Early intervention requires
that people who interact with the children understand the warning signs and help accordingly.
For example, two early signs are truancy and neglect. Initializing programs that help to higher
school morale or family-based community centers that integrate service delivery through a range
of promising programs, could help lower delinquency rates (youth, 2023) (Office of Juvenile
Justice and Delinquency Prevention, n.d.). Adult crime-prevention strategies work off the
assumption that adults are logical people that decide to commit crimes. One way to reduce this
type of crime is to incorporate situational prevention techniques. Situational strategies help to
reduce crime by increasing the effort needed, increasing the risk, reducing the reward, reducing
provocations, and removing excuses (Hoover, 2014). Status offences can be summarized as any
offence that can only be committed by minors. Offences like this would include running away
from home, truancy, curfew violations, underage drinking, underage smoking, underage driving.
Comparatively, delinquent acts are offences committed by minors and deemed criminal in
juvenile and adult courts. Examples of delinquent acts are shoplifting, theft, battery, assault,
fraud, unlicensed driving, drug possession, trespassing, vandalism etc (Admin, 2018). Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. (n.d.). 4 Provide Opportunities for

Introduction: This week you were introduced to the occupation of epidemiology along with their methods. The methods used are determined by the natural history of the disease in question, funding, ethical challenges, and threat to community spread. Each disease has its own unique application of epidemiological methods and timelines.
Initial Post: As you are looking at the epidemiological approach to emergent public health issues, why do you think public health might make mistakes? Think about the study designs, data collection methods, sources of data, or the disease investigation process in your response.

As part of Change Management, three broad options were provided (changing technology, changing structure, changing people). Using these three areas for reference and the "Want to Reduce Suicides? Follow the Data" case study for contextual reference, demonstrate how each of those could be applied to changing how we think about suicide prevention and how a Stakeholder could help with the change for any of the three areas under consideration
