Do you have any other comments that you would like to share with company management? As the company grows, it is vital that the addition of staff is considered so that we all have the time and resources available to continue providing the best of services in a timely manner 1. Fill out the survey (shown below) yourself for the organization where you work, or where you have worked in the past. Consider having the survey filled out informally and confidentially (no names) by some of your friends or co-workers. Summarize the results… for your classmates to read. I provided this survey to 3 of 5 employees, including myself. After review of them, we are happy with our work, and all agree accounting is an area of concern. This survey would benefit our organization, (if we were not already aware), in obtaining feedback as to what areas we can improve on and the validity of the concern. Although it is already in action, it would assist in management analyzing the department, what areas and why of the feedback, and how to improve it. By this time next year, there should be a major improvement as the plan of action has already been implemented. 2. Do you think receiving answers to the survey questions for your entire organization would provide a sound measure to facilitate change? Why or Why not? Explain. Yes, receiving answers to the survey will provide a sound measure to facilitate change as management can review the answers, see how many are similar in feedback, and analyze the areas to determine if there is validity to the feedback. An action plan can be strategized to correct the problem/concerns of employees. “The act of filling out a survey gives them a specific channel for expressing voice”, (Judd, O'Rourke, & Grant, 2018). 3. Would conducting this survey each year provide a measure of progress for your organization from which to measure progress? Yes, each year the feedback should improve and if the measures have progressed, it will show in the following year’s feedback or, not show as it is no longer feedback to address, showing that it is no longer an area of concern. “This mutual gains view of motivation and people management lies at the heart of employee engagement, a concept that’s become increasingly mainstream in management thinking”, (CIPD, 2023) 4. Conduct some online research on employee surveys. What websites did you visit? Provide a thorough summation of information on surveys and organizational feedback. On the website, QuestionPro, the author explains how an employee survey collects feedback about “their workplace, job responsibilities, colleagues, managers, and overall job satisfaction”, (Bhat, 2023). This sums up what a survey should entail and the site provides valuable questions that will assist any organization in obtaining employee feedback for many areas of an organization.
5. If you are against these types of surveys, how would you make them better, and what other methods could be used to gain feedback from employees? I believe surveys are great and offer the employee the ability to provide feedback anonymously, more so for those who are always hesitant to offer feedback. It avoids communication break downs and any unnecessary obstacles to improve production and overall job satisfaction. It helps in setting expectations for all areas of the organization and allows for employees to feel the comfort of being heard with no repercussions. References: Bhat, A. (n.d.).
