Network configuration type for global manufacturing:

• For the given scenario, the company uses the star topology network configuration.
• Reasons for choosing star topology:
  • All orders re processed through the central location.
    • The central location shares the production to different plants.
    • Each plant completed its own production and transmitted back to the central location for processes the given order.
  • Hence, using star topology, each computers share data through the central device.
    • Example for central device is hub or switch.

Needed Bandwidth:

• If the company uses standard “802.3u”, then the bandwidth is 100 Mbps.
• If the company uses standard “802.3z”, then the bandwidth is 1000 Mbps.
• If the company uses standard “802.5”, then the bandwidth is 4 Mbps and 16 Mbps.
