Explanation of Solution

Given information:

Show on the following graph the force needed for the object at $P$ to be in static equilibrium.

  

Calculation:

Here, an object as at point $P$ and four forces $F_1,F_2,F_3$ and $F_4$ are acting on the object. By observing the magnitude and direction of the forces, we can approximate and draw the force needed for the object to be in static equilibrium. Thus, to make it more easy, we will first resolve the component of the forces in horizontal and vertical directions as shown in the following figure.

Now, here we will see that the vertical component of $F_2$ is approximately equal and opposite of the force $F_4$ so they cancel the effect of each other. Similarly, the horizontal components of $F_3$ cancels the combined effect of $F_1$ and horizontal component of $F_2$ . Now, only vertical component of $F_3$ is left out there, therefore an equal and opposite force is required for the object to be in static equilibrium, which is represented by $F_R$ as shown in the following figure.
