Introduction:
Meiosis is also known as a reductional division. In meiosis the chromosome number gets reduced from 46 chromosomes to 23 chromosomes. It is important in reproduction. It occurs at the time of spermiogenesis and oogenesis.
Mitosis is a cell type division in which chromosomes are replicated and get separated into two nuclei. During the mitosis the chromosome number remains same (46 chromosomes). Mitosis is important for tissue reparation and during cell growth.
