The axes of rotation and degree of freedom in the movement of joints and its basis in classification of joints as monaxial, biaxial or multiaxial.

Introduction:

Synovial joints are freely movable joints having a joint cavity known as synovial cavity. The synovial cavity is filled with a synovial fluid. The synovial fluid helps in lubrication and frictionless movement of the joints. These joints are commonly found at the end of long bones and so provide a greater degree of movement.
