Introduction:

The shoulder joint is also known as the glenohumeral joint. It is a synovial joint that occurs between the humerus, the upper arm bone and the glenoid fossa of the scapula. It is a ball-and-socket joint where the ball is represented by the head of the humerus and the socket is denoted by the cavity in the scapula. The shoulder joint allows a wide range of movements such as flexion, extension, abduction, and rotations.
