Summary Introduction

Introduction:

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) is a laboratory technique, which is used for amplifying and studying the selected sequences of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid). PCR is a highly efficient and time-saving method to create millions of copies of DNA or RNA segments. PCR uses the same components to amplify these segments that are used by our body invivo (in the living organism). The procedure of PCR is carried out in three major steps that are repeated for 30–40 cycles. PCR is normally carried out in automated cycler that adjusts the temperature and alternates it rapidly as per the requirement of the step.
