Introduction:

The pelvic diaphragm also referred to as the pelvic floor is the flat sheet that mainly holds all the organs inside the pelvis, which is formed by the muscle called the levator ani muscle. The urethra and the anal canal pass through these muscles and they control the bowel and urinary continence.
