Summary Introduction

To discuss: The kinds of selective pressures operating in the late Miocene, Pliocene, and Pleistocene that favored an adaptive radiation of monkeys and contributed to decreased diversity among apes.

Introduction: African apes was first appeared and recorded about 22 mya (million years ago). Later, many Eurasian species like Sivapithecus appeared. This was possible because of the opening of a land bridge that connected continents.
