Introduction:
The endospores are present in the spore-forming species and are used to recognize the organisms. Endospores are made up of keratin, which is a very tough protein. Due to this, they are not stained by normal procedures. If the bacterium contains endospore, then the malachite green color disappears from the counterstain used during endospore stain test.
