1. The need for movement of competence factor (CF) out of the cell in order to bind to ComD for initiating synthesis and assembly of the transformasome.

2. The reason behind the inability of the competence factor to bind with ComD within the cell.

Introduction:

Transformation is the process of importing free DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) into bacterial cells. This process is responsible for the import of DNA from the dead bacteria. The DNA fragments and plasmids are released from dead bacteria and are imported in the recipient bacterial cell. This process requires a specific protein complex called transformasome.
