Concept explainers
The type of wave that has points, called nodes, that do not move.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Standing waves are also called stationary waves. These waves will be cancelled out when superimposed.
When two waves of same amplitude and frequency but in opposite direction combines with each other, standing wave is generated.
The two waves when superimposed will cancel out that’s why they do not move. The points are called nodes.
Conclusion:
The type of wave that has points, called nodes, that do not move is standing wave.
