Answer to Problem 1DQ

Solution:

It seems a good idea for taking hiring decisions using big data computer programs for some lower positions like executives and routine work employees, but not for hiring employees at the management level. A Computer system assesses the quality of a candidate only on the basis of a parameters set into the system. It cannot assess other parameters and qualities of a candidate; hence the computer can sometimes result in a wrong hiring decision.

Explanation of Solution

Employees are the crucial and important asset for an organization and Human resource planning is a crucial decision for any organization. The Human resource planning includes procedures like choosing recruiting sources, Inviting applications, conducting tests and interviews and planning for retirements, growth, and resignations.

Recruitment of appropriate employees is one of the important steps of the human resource. Some big companies are using big data computers for making hiring decisions. It seems a good idea for some positions like executives and routine work employees, but not for hiring employees at the management level. The lower level of staff has to conduct the routine work like billing, accounting, marketing etc which can be assessed using a computer program, but the managers have to take different decisions each day and their work cannot be defined like a lower level of staff, hence it will not be a good idea to hire managers using a computer-based system.

On the other hand, a computer assesses the quality of a person only on the basis of a parameters set into the system. It cannot assess other parameters and qualities of a candidate; hence the computer can sometimes result in a wrong hiring decision.
