Summary Introduction

To review:

The virus family normally associated with AIDS, which may be useful for gene therapy.

Introduction:

In recombinant DNA technology, genes which confer an interested phenotype (drug-resistant genes) can be isolated and integrated into a vector. Such vectors, DNA molecule, act as a vehicle and aid in the transfer of foreign gene into another cell (bacterial or eukaryotic cell). The artificially modified DNA molecules in laboratory condition with desired genes isolated from different organisms is referred as the recombinant DNA (rDNA).

Answer the following and inlcude the references    SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes CoVid-19, belongs to the Coronaviridae family. Viruses under this family have a genome made of single-stranded positive-sense RNA. Is this similar to the viral genome of HIV? If so, do you think that – in theory – they would have similar replication cycles? Do you think that ART combinations/options might help in suppressing the viral replication of SARS-CoV-2? Expound.
Please provide a general definition of a virus. Viruses can cause other issues, known as cytopathic effects. Provide 3 effects and discuss why that effect can be very damaging to the host.
Many viruses have the ability to resurrect dead cells. Why would investigating this feature of viruses be relevant
