To explain: The comparison of the glenoid cavity of scapula with the acetabulum of the os coxae.
Concept introduction: The scapula is the shoulder bone (shoulder blade). It joins the humerus with the clavicle. Scapulae are two in number, which are the right scapula and left scapula. This bone forms the back of the shoulder girdle. Os coxa is commonly called the hip bone or coxal bone. These are two in number. Os coxae are large flat bones that are expanded at the ends but constricted at the center.
To explain: The pectoral or the pelvic girdle that maintains the stronger and more tightly fitting bony connections with its respective limb.
Concept introduction: Pelvic girdle is the complex bony projection that connects the body with the legs. The set of bones in the appendicular skeleton that articulates the arm on each side is known as pectoral girdle.

- Noggin mutation: The mouse, one of the phenotypic consequences of Noggin mutationis mispatterning of the spinal cord, in the posterior region of the mouse embryo, suchthat in the hindlimb region the more ventral fates are lost, and the dorsal Pax3 domain isexpanded. (this experiment is not in the lectures).a. Hypothesis for why: What would be your hypothesis for why the ventral fatesare lost and dorsal fates expanded?
