Concept explainers
The process of fossil fuels formation.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The remains of plants and animals are buried under the rocks over millions of years. The chemical energy of fossil fuel is converted into thermal energy by burning fossil fuel. This thermal energy is further used to produce the electricity. The fossil fuels are non-renewable. So, the process of their formation takes too much time.
The process by which the fossil fuels are formed are listed below,
- Natural process
- Decomposition
Fossil fuels are also formed when organic matter that has been covered somewhere inside the earth are liable to warmth and pressure more than a large number of years.
Conclusion:
Therefore, the fossil fuels are formed with the natural process and some process like decomposition.
