Calculation:

The direction of $3\overrightarrow{s}$ vector will be same as that of vector $\overrightarrow{s}$ i.e. $45°$ . The magnitude of $3\overrightarrow{s}$ will be evaluated as follows:

  $\begin{array}{c}\text{Magnitude }3\overrightarrow{s}=3\left|\overrightarrow{s}\right|\\ =3\left|1.4\right|\\ =4.2\text{ cm}\end{array}$

Thus the magnitude of the resultant vector is $4.2\text{ cm}$ .
