Concept Introduction:

Bacterial cell is a prokaryotic cell without nucleus and organelles like mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes and Golgi apparatus. Respiratory mesosomes are present for respiration. Chromatin is present in the cytoplasm. Eukaryotic cell includes an animal cell and a plant cell. Animal cell has a nucleus, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus and ribosomes.

To describe:

Fate of pyruvic acid in strict aerobes, anaerobes and facultative anaerobes.

Concept Introduction:

Aerobes are organisms which require oxygen for their growth and metabolism. Anaerobes are organisms which do not require oxygen for their growth. Facultative organisms are those organisms which produce ATP if oxygen is present. If oxygen is absent then these organisms initiate the process of anaerobic respiration.
