Chapter 8, Problem 3E

For the Northern Hemisphere:

1. a. Put an object at the top of your desk and align Figure 8-4 of your lab manual as in Figure 8-3, where x indicates the object.
2. b. Draw a dashed line from the North Pole in Figure 8-4 directly toward the object at the top of the desk.
3. c. Repeat step b, but this time draw a solid line toward the object at the top of the desk while you simultaneously rotate your lab book in the direction of Earth’s rotation shown for the Northern Hemisphere in Figure 8-4. (It is best to have someone turn the book while you draw the line.)
