Measurement of arterial blood pressure by the body.
Introduction:
The force that is exerted by the blood on the walls of the vessel is known as blood pressure. This pressure is not same in all blood vessels and also in a person, it varies but is always within a range consistent with being able to provide blood to all cells. Normally, blood pressure is regulated within very narrow limits by a negative feedback control loop, which is governed by baroreceptors present in several of the large arteries including the aorta and the two carotid arteries.
