Concept Introduction - Redox are a type of chemical reaction in which the oxidative states of the atoms are altered. These type of reactions involves both the oxidation and reduction processes; the two main concepts involved in the transfer of electrons. The chemical moiety from which the electron is removed is said to have been oxidized while the moiety which gets the electron is said to have been reduced.
