Program Plan Intro
RAID:
Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) is a group of two or more hard disk drives; all the hard disk drives contain same data.
- RAID is a technology that is used to increase the performance and reliability of the data storage.
- The RAID technology provides a high degree of fault tolerance.
- The word “redundant” means that the extra copy of everything recorded in an original disk is immediately recorded in other hard disks.
- All the hard disks contain the extra copy of the same data; if one disk fails, then the service will not be interrupted.
- If the main disk fails, then the other disks return the requested data.
- RAID contains different types of levels but the most common levels are RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10.
